WWDC 2018

Apple’s developer conference has passed and I will have to say it is the best in years.

It was a bit of a “snow leopard” year, no new features but a bunch of stability and bug fixes. I couldn’t be happier. The iOS has gotten slower for each release and finally someone put down the foot on all those regressions. This release will be the first that is in fact faster than the previous one. It really should be the norm, not the exception, but I’m glad it finally happens.

There were of course some news, e.g. a new linguistic framework for doing AI work on text. Some of this existed before, but this time it is run by machine learning and there are support for more languages.

Thanks Apple, now I just hope you remove those input-blocking animations from the springboard!

Hello! How nice of you stopping by! ❤️

My name is Olof Thorén, I am an indie developer from Stockholm, Sweden.

I really enjoy creating stuff, and that is the reason why I am doing this. I started working full-time on building apps in 2009.

At the moment my main focus is Feeds, a glorified news and RSS-reader that keeps track of the web for you. I also build Qiozk Solo, white-label magazine apps for (mainly Swedish) publishers. I have published ~75 Solo-apps though most of them are not active today. Aggressive Development has published 15 apps under its own name and many more for other companies.

Please feel free to say hello on twitter @olof_t or email olof@aggressive.se. Don't hesitate to send me comments or feedback on anything I write.
